Whether true or not, this description has become a bit of cliché when it comes to describing a vehicle that has been well kept, and really looked after by the previous driver. But the fact is, a vehicle that has been looked after this well, is a vehicle that will be traded in at a higher price, meaning the owner will need to fork out less cash for their next car. Get your car up to scratch, fit it with the new mod cons such as reverse cameras and hands free holders, clean it thoroughly and look after it!

So how can you keep your car in the 'driven by one driver to church' condition?

1. Cleaning

The most obvious tip is restrict the kind of dirt and grime that enters the car, and clean it well. If you are eating and drinking in the car, or smoking, you are asking for trouble -- stains and smell are tough to get out, and often leave little shadows to show you they were there. Keep your car spotless, and clean it thoroughly, on a regular basis. If you can spare the extra cash, think about having it professionally detailed every now and then -- especially before you try to sell it.

2. Drive safely

This one is a no brainer. The safer you drive, the more vigilant you are, the more attention you pay to your own driving, the conditions and the drivers around you, the more likely you are to avoid an accident. A car that avoids accidents, is a car without scratches, paint missing and scuffs, and a car that is in better condition. These days, you are assisted in your safe driving efforts by vehicle technology such as advanced breaking systems, reverse cameras and laminated windscreens.

3. Maintain, maintain, maintain

Mechanically maintaining your car keeps it's as healthy on the inside as it is on the outside. Make sure you have your scheduled services, regularly change the oil and get new tyres as required.

If your mechanic spots an issue, try to deal with it as soon as you can so you don't drive on the issue and make it worse.

4. Cover everything

Car seat covers were invented for a reason! Your car interiors are one of the toughest things to keep clean. They stain easily and are subject to the mud you drag in, the grass stains from the kid's soccer uniforms and the coffee spilt as you drive. The best way to save your interior is to cover everything -- invest in car seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats and any other covering available, so when you remove it, your car is in top condition.

5. Start and store

Finally, if you are not using your car, or really only driving it on Sunday's, or every now and then, remember that your car charges as it runs. The longer you leave it alone, the less likely it will be to start. If you are storing your vehicle, start it regularly, kick it over and let it run for a little while.

By the way, do you want to learn more about Automotive? For people out there who do not enjoy washing and taking care of the vehicle, there are ten car cleaning tips that will help to make this process go easier, make the car look fantastic, and will help to keep it cleaner between regular cleanings.

1. The first step in keeping the car clean would be to unsure that trash and items get taken out of the car regularly. Trash should not be left in the back seat for days at a time. If there is a bag from a fast food restaurant, it should be thrown out that day. This will cut down on the cleaning time where a thorough job is done.

2. Car mats in the car will help to collect water, mud and debris. In between regular cleanings, these mats can be quickly and easily shaken out to keep the dirt out of the car.

3. The trunk and back seat of the car is often a collection place for books, jackets and more. Keeping a small box or bag in the back where a few items can be stores can keep things organized and in one place.

4. When doing a full cleaning of the car, the use of a protecting spray that cleans and treats the dash is recommended. One recommendation would be to not use this on the steering wheel as it can make it slippery and potentially dangerous.

5. A crevice tool for the vacuum is necessary when it comes to getting into the areas between the seats and the console. Otherwise, dirt will be left behind.

6. If the car has leather seats, it is a good idea to use a liquid leather product that is designed to treat and maintain. This will aid in preventing cracked seats.

7. On the outside of the car, using a combination wash and wax product will save considerable time.

8. To avoid getting any water spots on the car, towel drying should be done with a soft and lint free towel.

9. Tires should receive an application of tire spray. These sprays usually should sit on the tire for a few minutes before being wiped off. This will give the tires a nice shine to them.

10. Finally, an air freshener should be placed in the car or one should be sprayed in the interior.

With these simple steps, car cleaning is quite easy to do and maintain.

Find more tips for car cleaning such as weather protection and paintwork protection on the official Mitsubishi website.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Chelsi_Woolz

http://EzineArticles.com/?10-Car-Cleaning-Tips&id=6300643

Car Window And Home Tinting

By Byron Jonas

Adhering to the high potential of the window tinting technology, it is considered to be a genuine and growing business. It constitutes an emerging market with potential for catering to the secured requirements of cars, houses and work places. The benefits of tinting windows are always more than what one expects. Application of the window tint would require the help of a professional expert or can be initiated with a self help kit easily available in the market. It is pragmatic to opt for professional assistance to apply the tint if one is not confident of his or her abilities in doing the tinting.

Vehicle users especially the drivers of cars and motorists derive the maximum benefit of the tinted window. The probability of any potential threat to the skin through skin cancer or skin aging can be barred through the application of tinting. Auto tinting is an ideal option to prevent any sort of any unprecedented casualty. The property of the window tint deflects direct sunlight, thus protecting the exposure of the driver's vision to the direct rays of the sun. At times of accidents, tinted car windows always come in handy. The synthetic content of the tint obstructs the glass from shattering due to any sudden pressure or impact.

Car tinting is well known for its protection from direct overheating with continuous exposure. This is a boon, when one opts for long road trips in summer when the sunrays exert excessive heat. Apart from the look and feel of the tinted windows, giving a stylish appearance to the car, window tinting blocks the severe exposure to outside temperature which leads to the destruction of the car's upholstery.

Car tinting is a mark of fashion in today's time. With the growing need for an amalgam of fashion and utility, homeowners tend to go for this option over any other for the same reason why drivers tint their windows. Window tint makes it more viable for staying at the residence, without the fear of getting exposed to direct sunlight or temperature. The high rise buildings that are prone to receiving direct sunlight are best suitable for these types of windows. Due to the deflective and heat-absorbent characteristics of window tints, tinting the home windows provides insulation to the house. Because of this you can make your house a quite cooler place to be at during summer and warmer during winter days.

It not only prevents the direct entrance of sunlight into the house but it also provides protection to your properties. Because of the tint of the windows the valuable personal property is hidden from the view of the public. Your family also gets enhanced privacy due to which they feel at ease as well as highly relaxed. By using these tinted windows you give your house a luxurious and modern yet professional touch.

Byron Jonas recommends getting a good window tinting company to do the windows for your office or home. He thinks tinted windows are stylish, and save energy and costs too.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Byron_Jonas
http://EzineArticles.com/?Car-Window-And-Home-Tinting&id=6250771

How to Polish a Car

By Charlie Maine

We've all done it I'm sure. Our shiny new car gets a bit dirty so we lovingly rinse it down and then reach for the car polish, wipe off the cobwebs, and step outside. Ten minutes later you step back to admire a smudgy, ironically dirtier looking vehicle. What am I doing wrong you mutter? Knowing how to polish a car isn't as simple as reach for a cloth, Mr Miyagi didn't use this as a training exercise for nothing! This article will outline just how to polish a car for that fresh from the garage look.

Get your gear

The first thing to do is to purchase the right type and quality of polish. Your car manual will have guidance on the type of polish to use. Don't be tempted by some of the cheaper supermarket no frills brands, professional car salesrooms won't be using this and nor should you. You will need your usual car cleaning cloths, buckets and hose as well as a towel and polishing pad (there are many brands/types to choose from).

Wash your car- thoroughly

If you are asking how to polish a car without having first washed your car then shame on you. You need to clean it before you buff it. Wash your car thoroughly. I would recommend staying away from automated car washes and get stuck in with some elbow grease. A car wash won't give the deep clean needed or focus on that one persistent kamikaze fly debris. It's essential that your car is spotless before you even think about polishing it. Any dirt trapped under the polish has the potential to damage your coat and mar the overall finish.

Apply the shoe shine

Now it's finally time to get to the bottom of it - how to polish a car properly. First, towel dry your car, yes that's right, dab her down until completely dry. Polish will not take to a wet car. Once dry, discard you towel and draw your polish pad. Place a small, straight line of polish on the area to be shined (note: do this in small sections, not entire doors or bonnets), and begin. Wax on, wax off. Small circular motions will result in the best finish. Keep rubbing until all of the polish has been absorbed. After toiling away for about an hour you should be close to a perfectly shiny vehicle.

How to polish a car - tips

1. Use a high quality polish pad instead of a damp cloth
2. Choose a high quality polish, not the cheapest
3. Put the effort in manually for the best results
4. Don't give up!

These tips explaining how to polish a car should help you keep your car looking shiny and new. However, if your car is at the stage where no amount of cleaning and polishing is going make a difference then you may be considering buying something a bit newer. Ron Skinner Car Supermarket has a huge variety of quality used cars in South Wales. A family-run business with 40 years of experience, customer service comes first.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Charlie_Maine

http://EzineArticles.com/?How-to-Polish-a-Car&id=6301548

LED Light Bulbs are the wave of the future for Automotive Industry

Author: Car LED bulbs

The Future LED Light In Automotive Industry

When Nick Holonyak Jr. first introduced the LED in 1962, he probably has never imagined that LED light will get so popular in 50 years later.

One of the most popular places where LED lights have brightly "shine" is in the Automotive Industry Field. I saw somebody talked about the car diagnostic tools occasionally. I learned that many people were using the tools and some of them recommend a good tool, that is X431 Master. Then, I turned to some friends who own cars, also checked the X431 forums for help. And the answer was positive, X431 Master was a reliable and newest-generation professional diagnostic tool. And I also found that some guys bought X431 scan tool online.

When I decided to buy a diagnostic tool from shop, I searched the tool online and found the yeedong online shop. There were the following two reviews from yeedong customers:
1."Since I got X431 Master from yeedong, I find I have a reliable personal assistant, it help me save much worry, wherever I travel, whenever I have trouble with my Toyota car, it will do me a lot of favor."
2."I think I am lucky to have X431 Master, it works efficiently and intelligently, no wonder it is a new generation of product. More than this, all car types are applicative. I can say this diagnostic tool is like my PDA."

After knowing this good comments and learning from yeedong customer service that I could feel their porfessional service. Also, The X431 Master was sold at a reasonal price on their website, and there was other useful item for gift. while I checked out in a forum saying the retail price was much more expensive. So at that time I was sure I would bought one X431 Master diagnostic tool from yeedong.

When I used the X431 Master for the first time. I found that it just liked a smart computer, large LCD touch screen, and the Linux operation system was easy to use, 32-bit CPU offered a high process speed. 128mb CF Card could save diagnostic data. The mini printer is convenient for users, so users could print out the data for review.

I want to say this tool is really a good partner for car owners, you can use it without anyone's help, and you are a repairman.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/cars-articles/x431-master-is-a-good-partner-for-car-owners-2888221.html

About the Author

I bought X431 Master on yeedong online shop.
Also I found other useful items:
X431 Diagun
X431 Super 16 Connector

Element body kits - impose your identity on your SUV

Author: Louie Liu

Honda Element was introduced in the United States in 2003 as a compact crossover SUV. The idea behind the design of Element was to make available a car which could function as a pickup as well as a sport utility vehicle. Some features of both of these vehicles were combined in Element. It was meant to carry outdoor sport equipment to camp sites, beaches, hills etc. It is a four-seat vehicle which can carry lots of luggage. The rear seats can be folded or even removed to provide extra space for equipment. A four-wheel drive version of the vehicle was introduced but was withdrawn in 2006, so now it remains a front-wheel drive vehicle. It has usual safety features like airbags and electronic stability control.

The car owners generally install body kits to give their cars a new look. The purpose is to impart a unique distinctive look which will make the car stand out amongst other cars. These are a set of extensions made of metal, or polyurethane, or fiberglass, or carbon fiber. These are externally attached to a vehicle and include front and rear bumpers, side skirts, spoilers, and sometimes side guards. They make the vehicle look longer and lower and modify its looks. Element body kits offer a wide range of choice of designs to the car owners. This makes it possible for the car lovers to find a set of body kits to their liking but at the same time makes the process of selection time consuming and bothersome. It will therefore be preferable if you select them online instead of making a round of automobile stores. Car owners are very careful in selecting a car, they are as careful when they select its accessories, they have to be equally careful when installing body kits. They have to see to it that they are correctly installed. It will be desirable to engage a professional for this purpose.

Element combines the elements of a pickup and SUV, the latest Element body kits add to it your identity so that the onlookers associate it only with you. In simple words it is a device which alters the throttle curve and helps in improving the performance of the car thus making it feel more powerful. The basic function that a sprint booster performs for a vehicle is that it makes the car easy to drive as its stock system provides fuel economy along with smoothness.

Popularly known as one of the best performance products the latest version of the Sprint Booster won the 'SEMA BEST NEW PERFORMANCE-STREET PRODUCT 2010'. Its advantages and simple processing unit makes a car responsive and thus makes driving fun. It works by modifying signal forces of the throttle body to open 'more' than the stock signal at a given pedal position. In effect, the idle-to-full-throttle pedal travel is reduced. This makes a car 'feel' more powerful because a given pedal input produces greater throttle opening. Sprint Booster simply modifies the throttle signal between the accelerator pedal and the throttle body. Most of the time it is mistaken that Sprint booster adds horsepower, but the fact is that it simply makes the throttle more sensitive and makes the car 'feel' faster.

Another thing that needs attention is that sprint booster is not everyone. For instance if you have a track car where you spend most of your time near redline, then this product is not for you. On the other hand it is for all those who have a Sport Mode, ECU software, or 'Chip' on your car. The fact that modern day cars operate on drive-by-wire technique wherein its throttle is electronically operated rather than being operated through a cable, it induces an adverse side effect in the form of slow responsiveness and weak offline performance. Sprint Booster helps to overcome this drawback.

Sprint Booster works independently of other modifications by simply making the throttle more sensitive, making the car feel faster. Its benefits can be felt in the low to mid pedal travel and is most effective in the low to mid rpm range, which is where most 'street' cars are driven on a daily basis. It has also to be taken care that you may need to adjust your driving style after installing sprint booster. Though it is only a matter of time that you make take to adjust to the new hardware but none of us can renounce the advantages and the fun that it will get back into your daily drive. In addition it can be installed in minutes, is economical and removed easily.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/cars-articles/improve-your-automotive-performance-with-sprint-booster-2889478.html

About the Author

Buy Sprint Booster is a world famous Plug n Play Car mod that instantly removes Drive by wire hesitation. Many people use the ever so famous monkey butt powder to help with this problem. Well I guess this makes things a bit better, but what happens when you run out of the house and forget to apply the powder? I guess you just come home nasty feeling.

I used to use the monkey butt powder, but then I found out how much better sheepskin seat covers works, in so many ways. Sheepskin seat covers not only keeps you from sweating so bad, but it keeps you comfortable on those long runs. Sheepskin seat covers gives your bike that authentic look.

I ride my bike daily so I really know the many problems that comes with a uncomfortable seat. A uncomfortable seat can cause you much butt pain. A uncomfortable seat can make a one hour trip seem like a five hour trip. A hard uncomfortable seat can make you miserable.

I got a sheepskin seat cover for my bike and that all changed. I wasn't about to go out and spend $500.00 on a new aftermarket seat when it wouldn't even help with the sweating problem! When I got my sheepskin seat covers for my bike not only did the sweating problem go away, but my seat felt like a completely different seat. My new sheepskin seat felt like a super soft cool cushion.

Now my bike isn't anything special. It is a Honda Aero not a super expensive Harley Davidson so when I went to Daytona this year I didn't expect any special attention. I was very surprised when people started commenting on my sheepskin seat covers. I mean people were literally asking to sit on my bike to see how it felt. Many of the HD owners were very impressed and all of the hard seat Honda owners were amazed.

My sheepskin made my few days at Daytona the best Ive ever had. I must have had a hundred and fifty people ask to sit on my bike. I was amazed! If I was smart I would have loaded a trailer with sheepskin and took it with me, but then I wouldn't be so special. As it was I was like the guy with the wad of cash in his hand at the local ladies lounge. I met so many people I couldn't count them and it was all because of my sheepskin seat covers. As long as I stood next to my bike or sat on it, people would come up to me and just start talking. Next time I'm going to make people take a picture with me before they sit on my bike. This way Ill have plenty of proof of my stardom with my sheepskin seat covers.

My name is Terry Matthews
I own and operate multiple online businesses. One of my businesses is my favorite because I truly love the product. In the year Eighteen Hundred and Ninety Eight (1898), Frank Seiberling who was a U.S. inventor, formed the company Bicycle tires, carriage tires, horseshoe pads and poker chips were the original products for the cutting edge company and all of the thirteen hardworking original employees contributed greatly to the production process which took place in their beloved Akron, Ohio production plant.

The famous creator of vulcanized rubber in 1839 was Charles Goodyear, however he was not ever associated with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company or anyone who worked there. In consideration of the advancements which he made to the automobile and rubber industry, it was disclosed that the firm Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company was named to honor Mr. Charles Goodyear by Mr. Seiberling, the founder and principal owner.

Ford Motor Company was heavily involved in the upstart auto racing sport and they approached Mr. Seiberling to provide the tires needed for the race cars and this is when the big break came for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company supplied the tires for Ford's Model T car, which was Henry Ford's remarkable new vehicle that he envisioned as the car for the masses. History provides us with the interesting story that was to come. They became a leading international organization in 1909, when Goodyear Tire and Rubber started building tires for airplanes.

By nineteen hundred and twenty six, Goodyear Tire and Rubber was clearly the largest tire manufacturer in the world. At that time, the racing tires which Goodyear had produced created its fame and the reason that most people knew Goodyear was for Goodyear Tires. Having achieved a high profile recognition due to the renown and popularity of the Goodyear tires, the company rose to a new level of growth and production.

Diversifying into a number of other areas of business, the fact that Goodyear had become a multinational corporation enabled them to successfully be able expand. A nuclear processing plant was opened in Ohio in 1956 as one of the diverse areas that Goodyear expanded into. The space shuttle and other aircraft were designed and manufactured by the Goodyear Aerospace Corporation, which had came out of an earlier organization in the 1970's called the Goodyear Aircraft Company. At this time Goodyear developed a design and research technical facility at the location of their original Akron plant, on which they had spent a great deal of money converting this plant from tire manufacturer to Aerospace issues.

The Goodyear Company has made many discoveries, innovations and victories throughout the ensuing years. Having diversified into a number of fields that were both important and financially rewarding, this global firm has become an international conglomerate.

Third only to global leaders Bridgestone and Michelein, Goodyear is one of the largest makers of tires. People normally have Goodyear on their minds when they need tires for their cars because of the amazing history for which the company has been responsible.

Now, Dylan has written on topics other articles on tires. It is a brand that has always stood for high performance sports cars designed and produced by skilled craftsmen. The British automaker has recently brought to light its intent to be known for not only offering a lavish sports car, but a fuel efficient one as well. The new city cars will focus on the duties of transportation and not just getting from zero to 60 as quickly as possible.

Originally, Aston Martin was known primarily in the racing circles. By the time the 1920's had rolled around, the brand had made its first overseas appearance, participating in the French Grand Prix. The brand was quickly able to make a name for itself with popular racing cars such as the streamlined 1934 Ulster. Every car produced by this top brand is a product of today's technology. New resources along with new investments in the latest computer aided designs are ensuring that the future for this car brand is as bright as its past.

Over the past 90 years, Aston Martin has produced quality sports cars. The inspiration for the company itself began when founders Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford wanted to build distinctive sports cars that were exhilarating to drive. Martin was a regular competitor in the hill climb races at Aston Clinton and the simple combination of the name of the event and the name of the driver gave birth to one of the most famous automotive marques ever.

The fact that the company Aston Martin is still around today is a testament to its enduring strength and quality of its vehicles. Since its founding in 1914 the company has gone through more than half a dozen owners and been propelled to near-icon status thanks to its involvement in the James Bond films. Some of the more popular cars today include the DBS Volante with its combination of sports car characteristics and open-air motoring. The V8 Vantage is a great example of modern automotive design. A hand-crafted sports car that offers excellent performance, incredible agility and everyday usability. You even have the option of designing your own car just the way you want it.

Pete J Ridgard is a writer and a car enthusiast. He currently writes for the automotive industry. Here he discusses Aston Martin cars.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Pete_Ridgard

http://EzineArticles.com/?Aston-Martin---High-Performance-Sports-Cars&id=4121271

7 Things You Need to Know About Your Auto Insurance

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Matt_A_Burke]Matt A Burke

Understanding how the auto insurance industry can be as confusing as trying to learn how to drive a stick shift car for the first time. However, some basic insider knowledge can help you understand your options, what you can do to save money, and how you can get the most out of your auto insurance.

1. Don't let your policy lapse.

Most insurance companies view drivers who are licensed but don't have insurance as risky or irresponsible. If you let your policy lapse, you'll probably pay more when you go to buy car insurance. To avoid this in the future, if you don't want to pay for insurance or plan to let your policy expire because you want to switch companies, make sure to purchase car insurance before your current policy is cancelled.

2. Factors that affect insurance rates.

Auto insurance companies use many different criteria when evaluating an insurance application during a process called underwriting. Each car insurance company has many guidelines regarding which groups of drivers they want to accept and how much they will charge those groups they consider a greater risk. The guidelines are different for each company, meaning that two companies comparing the same driver can arrive at vastly different conclusions.

During the underwriting process, car insurance applicants are placed in a group based on how much money and how many claims the insurance company believes it may have to pay. Underwriting is done automatically by software behind the scenes. At this time, the insurance company will look at motor vehicle records to see how many accidents or tickets a driver has received. Although accidents and violations can only affect the rates you receive for three years, many companies tend to look back five or more years when deciding if they want to offer you insurance. In addition, many auto insurance companies look at the credit history of the applicant.

3. Some coverage's may still be cheap and good at the same time.

Auto insurance may be expensive, but if you're already spending a lot, shouldn't you get a lot? Optional coverage's such as gap coverage, roadside assistance, rental reimbursement, uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, and comprehensive coverage can provide a lot of protection for a little price increase. Comprehensive coverage is usually the most expensive of these coverage's, but is still usually about half the price of collision coverage and a third the price of liability coverage.

Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage is especially important, considering the benefits it offers and the number of uninsured drivers on the road, particularly during this period of economic hardship. Take a look at your coverage options. Paying a little more now may save you a lot in the future.

4. Insurance prices vary from company to company.

You've probably seen commercials saying you can save money by switching to a certain car insurance company. How can so many companies make this claim? The reason is that "auto insurance is a highly competitive business and one of the most effective ways to reduce insurance costs is simply to shop around," according to Jeanne Salvatore, senior vice president of the Insurance Information Institute. "Drivers should look for an insurance company that will provide a good price along with excellent service."

Stipulations in the law set prices for the same policy from the same company. They are approved by the state and can't be changed by an agent, so you can't get a better price for the same policy simply by going to a different agent or trying to negotiate the price.

5. More coverage means more money out of your pocket.

The majority of your car rel=nofollow insurance premium typically goes toward the legal liability portion of your policy. It's not a very smart idea to reduce this portion in an attempt to save money, because you'll be responsible for any amount of damages your policy doesn't cover. However, other coverage's, although generally helpful, could be reduced or eliminated to lower your premium. If you have an older car that's not worth very much, or if you won't have a problem paying for a new car, collision and comprehensive coverage's may not make economic sense.

6. Higher deductibles mean lower premiums.

Insurance prices are based on how much money the insurance company believes it could have to pay. If you agree to pay for a larger portion of your own damages by raising your deductibles, your car insurance company automatically knows they won't have to pay as much for your claims. Because of this, they will usually give you a lower premium. If you decide to raise your deductibles to save money, be sure you can afford to pay the deductible if you have to make a claim.

7. Insurance discounts.

Many insurance companies offer auto insurance discounts for things like a safe driving record, good grades, car safety features, anti-theft devices, electronic payments, payment in full, and more. http://justautoins.com/payments/view/purchase_auto_insurance_online/

Article Source: [http://EzineArticles.com/?7-Things-You-Need-to-Know-About-Your-Auto-Insurance&id=3584916] 7 Things You Need to Know About Your Auto Insurance

Common Car Paint Problems - Environmental Contaminants

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=M._Maxx]M. Leaving bird droppings on your vehicle's paint will allow it to etch out more damage.

Road Tar

Driving your car around will inevitably expose it to all kinds of particles that stick to your paint. Though there are many choices to make it's the main factor that you can decide on which suits you best and appeals to your sense of style. Black is a big seller yet silver can sometimes have more style. Red is hot and white can be conservative, it's all up to you.

The elements though can play havoc on keeping that original shine and luster to this important investment. Once a car loses its color, the value is reduced and it never looks the same. These are some tips and tricks on how to maintain that color and keep the environment from doing damage to your paint job as well as restoring any damage already done!

HOW TO RESIST ENVIROMENTAL DAMAGES:
There are many different types of finishes on vehicles like enamel, matt coating, acrylic etc...unfortunately, no matter what the finish is, your car's paint is still susceptible to the environment. To help protect it always use a preventive maintenance program.

The sun puts out ultra violet rays that can damage the gloss of the finish and because metal holds heat it can cause permanent stains. The only way to deal with this is by using protective sealants and coatings.

Air pollutants are your next problem because they transform into nitric and sulfuric acids that eventually deposit onto your vehicle and eat up the paint. To combat this, keep your vehicle clean by washing it on a regular basis. This is very important because even in the winter with salt and dirt, pitting and rusting can occur. The undercarriage should be treated with a protective coating to help eliminate this problem.

When your car is clean moisture can't build up in the dirty areas and cause corrosion. I advise a car wash at least once to twice a month and sometimes have a gentle power wash to dislodge dirt that is embedded in hard to reach places like under the bumpers, the wheel wells and behind the moldings to name a few.

By pressure washing after or during winter you can dislodge the excess salt and dirt from the body of your vehicle and at the same time give it a shiny and clean appearance and reduce the chances of rust problems.

Another big tip is to keep you car or truck waxed on a regular basis. This will aid in a big way to keep the color from fading and minimize the harm that chemicals can do to your paint job and also give a great shine to your vehicle. Its should only take about 30 minutes to wax even a large vehicle and should last for 3-4 months.

ALWAYS REPAIR THE CHIPS AND SCRATCHES:
Most times you can order matching spray paint from the manufacturer and buy using a toothpick as an aid you can fix most prominent scratches and chips. For some of the smaller ones a polishing compound will work. By investing, the time and utilizing these tips your vehicles paint job has a much better chance of remaining in new like condition!

Learn how to spray paint your car easily in 2 hours of less
Visit SprayPaintSecrets official site now:

Discover the secrets of workshopcar sprayingtechniques & car bodywork repair in 2 hours withstep-by-step, easy to follow DVD video training...

Article Source:http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Mario_Goldstein
http://EzineArticles.com/?How-to-Maintain-the-Shine-on-Your-Car-Paint-Job---Car-Bodywork-Tips&id=2449205

Summary: When buying a car one of the biggest choices you have is the color! Usually this type of repair job can take several days.

The second option , primarily for minor damage (and if the car paintwork is not damaged) - is to have a paintless dent removal technician work on it, which will be much faster, cheaper and convenient as their mobile service personnel can come to you at a suitable time, rather than you going to them during your working hours.

The third option is to use a SMART repair technician (small to medium area repair technique) as these paint repair technicians specialise in minor repairs such as bumper scuffs and small scratches.

The fourth option is to attempt to do the repair job yourself, although this only solves the paint repair, not the actual dent or scratch itself. It goes without saying that if you're not experienced in this type of work, you could end up doing more harm than good, with a result that is a lot worse than when you started!

And the fifth option is to do nothing and leave it as it is. Of course, that doesn't really solve anything, but it doesn't cost you anything either. However, it is recommended that you at least "touch in" any scratches to prevent rust forming.

Which method of repair you choose depends on several different factors: the cost, the make of the car, the extent of the damage, and your car insurance cover.

If you don't have much money, then the first car paint repair option is eliminated. However, if your car is a Porsche, where the paint job comprises 21 different stages to ensure its durability, you may find the first repair option the only viable one available for major damages.

If the extent of the damage is minor, then the second or third paint repair options become the most practical, although the rather primitive touching-up method will always show much more so than the method of paintless dent removal followed by touching in, which is designed to disguise the damage to almost invisible. It is important to note that paintless dent removal is largely used when there is very minor or no paint damage.

Whichever method you choose, it is still hard to believe that the "paint" used in Auto Industry paint repair originated from a substance comprised of items such as berries, blood, plants, soot and ash, during the cave men era.

As the demand for vehicle paint increased dramatically, technologists were commissioned to discover faster ways of applying paint to automobiles. The three days needed for the numerous coats of standard paint to dry was hampering supply and a damaged car needing car paint repair was taking almost as long as a new one to finish!

Aside from perfecting the spray gun so that greater quantities of paint could be more accurately and evenly dispersed over the shell of a car, "dilutable" paint resins incorporating water were produced. These were more environmentally-friendly than previous ones, releasing water into the atmosphere upon drying instead of organic solvents and are still the ones used today.

Later, tiny metallic pieces which when administered would only be a depth of 15 microns (15 millionths of a metre) were added as well as pigments to the paints to vary the car paint palette and choice of car paint repair materials. To finish, a clear coat of protective resin was introduced over the paintjob to seal in the paint, add to durability, and give it that lustrous shine.

This explains why when you take your car to a garage it takes so long, why paintless dent removal is such good value, and why when you do a "touch up" car paint repair job yourself, it looks so noticeably different from the original manufacturer's paintjob.

Ultimately, the idea is to try to avoid needing vehicle paint repair by driving safely and carefully, whilst still enjoying your pride and joy on the roads

Steve Magill is the Managing Director of LVV Services Ltd.Smart car repair specialists who are located in South Wales.Covering Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Bridgend and surrounding areas. http://www.lvvservices.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Steve_Magill
http://EzineArticles.com/?History-and-Techniques-of-Car-Paint-Repair&id=895173

Summary:When you scratch or dent your car, removing the paint in the process, you have five options regarding the car paint repair from which to choose. This will allow you to become familiar with your car as a whole, and learn about the things your car needs to function properly. Once you're a little more familiar with your vehicle, you can take care of it by following our car maintenance tips.

Tip #1: Check your tires

Making sure that your tire pressure is set to factory specifications will increase their life span. To find out how much tire pressure you should have, check your owner's manual or call the dealership directly.

Be sure to check the tire's tread as well. If you can see a solid bar of rubber across the width of the tread, it's time for a replacement.

You should also have your car tires rotated. A good rule of thumb is to have your tires rotated every six to eight thousand miles.

Tip #2: Fluids, belts and hoses

In most cases, fluids, belts and hoses can be checked easily. A lot of times, all it takes is a quick check under the hood to see if the fluids are low or if there's wear and tear on your belts and hoses.

Tip #3: Windshield wipers

If your windshield wipers aren't performing very well, then it might be a good time to replace them. It's quick and easy to replace them, so doing it yourself isn't a problem. Just make sure to look in your owner's manual so the right model of blades is purchased.

Tip #4: Brakes

It's important to have good brakes, and there are a number of ways to check what needs to be done.

• If your brakes squeal or grind when stopping, the brakes need to be cleaned or the pads need to be replaced.

• If your car pulls to one side when braking, you may be lacking sufficient hydraulic pressure.

• If the pedal goes all the way down, it usually means that the rear brake lining is wearing thin. If the pedal just feels soft when braking, you may be low on brake fluid.

And, of course, if your car has a brake light that glows, don't ignore it when it lights up. Filling the brake fluid might resolve the problem, but if not, take it in to get looked at.

Tip #5: Car battery maintenance

It's almost probable that you'll have to replace your car's battery at some point, but there are ways to prevent it from happening too quickly.

• Clean the cables with a wire brush and a mixture of one tablespoon baking soda and one cup water. Be sure to disconnect the cables from the battery before cleaning. Adding some petroleum jelly to the posts will make reapplying the cables easier.

• Check the connections. If the cables are loose, tighten them. If your car comes with a bar that holds the battery down, be sure it's secure.

Both of these car battery maintenance tips will help when it comes to prolonging the life of the battery.

Tip #6: Car maintenance schedule

Every vehicle has a car maintenance schedule that should be followed. In most cases, scheduled maintenance is required at 30,000 miles, 45,000 miles, 60,000 miles and so on. Adhering to your car maintenance schedule will ensure that your vehicle is in proper working condition.

The Bottom Line

Following the above car maintenance tips will ensure proper functionality of your vehicle. Preventative maintenance is easy to do and will save you from the stresses of premature repair costs and vehicle breakdowns. In other words, it will help you get the most out of your car.

Got to mechanicadvisor.com for more automotive articles

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/automotive-articles/car-maintenance-tips-380737.html

About the Author:
A group of auto repair specialists

Beginner's Guide to Car Audio Installation - DIY

Speaker Positioning

Speaker installation is very critical for performance. Whether you spent $1000 or $10,000 on a set of speakers, if they are not properly installed, they would not sound as they should. Even though it may seem that the best position for most speakers are in the stock housing's that came with the car e.g. on the door panel near your feet, this is just not so. You would see why such positions are still used however along with alternative solutions such as center channels for 5.1 dolby, LCD screen, in-dash DVD players. There are many factors that need to be considered in placing the speakers in the correct position.

Distance

The first thing to consider is distance. If the left speaker is only a couple feet away from your ears, while the right speaker is several feet away from you, then the sound will arrive at different times giving you poor sound. Since the left speaker is closer, it sounds louder. The best solution is to figure out a location where the difference between the distance of the right speaker to your ears and left speaker (also known as path length difference), are minimal. This is where kick panels become the preferred location.

Multiple Speaker Placement
If you have a system with two or more speakers per side, you need to try out different locations to obtain the best possible sound in your car. If you have a 2-way system with a tweeter and sub per side. The subs are mounted in the stock location at the bottom of the door. The tweeters are mounted high up on the front corner of the door panel. From the driver's seat, you can see that there are 4 speakers all aimed towards different orientations and all at a different distance to your ears. This interaction of sound waves at different frequencies arriving at your ears at different times seldom sounds good. The best thing to do is to position the woofer and tweeter on each side as close as possible to each other. This is also why kick panels are used so much these days. Professional installers do use some tricks such as inverting the tweeters' polarity when mounted for example on top of the dash while the woofers are low. Achieving good sound with unconventional mounting schemes is very, very hard and is only achieved after plenty of time has been spent trying different configurations.

Aiming
Our ears can distinguish the direction of sound more easily at higher frequencies. This means that aiming the mids, and most importantly, tweeters towards your ears play a critical role in sound imaging. Midbases are not so critical, but should be also aimed towards the listener's ears if possible. To figure out the best aiming angle involves many hours -even days- of work. To start, try to aim the speakers towards the center of the car. Play around with different angles until you obtain the best sounding position. Subwoofers should be mounted up front for best sound. Since this is not possible in most cars, mounting subs in the back is not such a bad thing, since most people can't distinguish where bass comes from. If you have good midbases going down to 60 Hz or less and subs picking up the signal below 60 Hz, then the bass will seem to come from the front.

Enclosures
Subwoofers need a properly designed enclosure to give top performance. Midbases and mids also do sound much better if they are installed in enclosures. The best sounding and easier to build enclosure type for midbases and mids is sealed.

Mounting Speakers
If you are using speakers that fit into the stock location, make sure there are no spaces or holes. Sometimes building a wood or fiberglass baffle helps reduce holes and gives you much better sound. Always be careful when using power tools around speakers. Holes in speakers usually are not covered by the warranty. For unconventional speaker locations, sometimes metal has to be cut. If you have the resources, plasma cutters and pneumatics tools work great. For most of us that do not have these tools, a pair of metal snips (left and right cut) will do the job.

Take your time to plan your system and dont just buy brand and product for the sake of popularity. Sometimes the simplest system is the most effective.

Get more Auto and Car Audio Video help .

Read More at:
http://forums.trinituner.com/forums/archive/

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Duane_Boodasingh
http://EzineArticles.com/?Beginners-Guide-to-Car-Audio-Installation---DIY&id=140825

The Durable and Long-lasting Radiator Parts now on sale at Parts Train are a simple and elegant solution

Author: Nikunj M Patel

A small leak on your Radiator can be indicating a larger problem. A cooling system that runs low too often is less efficient and you can damage your cooling system by letting the coolant level get too low. Too little coolant flow can be bad, but at normal and high operating temperatures, the rate at which coolant moves through the radiator does not change the amount of heat that is dissipated by the cooling cores. The amount of cooling will not be reduced even when the mean temperature of the coolant rises and flows faster.

Many cheap coolants do not have the corrosion protection, pH balancing, or sediment prevention that the top-quality coolants do. These low quality coolants do not have the same additives of name brand coolants. To help your engine stay cooler, rev up your engine slightly when you are overheating in traffic to help push more air across the cooling cores and more coolant through the engine.

All water-cooled radiators have an automatically controlled electric fan on the radiator. The way the system is supposed to work is that, after the engine is started, the thermostat on the engine stays closed until the coolant temperature at the ENGINE reaches 87C (189F) degrees. It is the responsibility of the Radiator to keep the coolant temperature from running too high. However, if the temperature is too high it is not necessarily the radiator.

A poor radiator cap will not last as long or stay properly calibrated, and either opens at too low or two highs a pressure. Make sure your radiator cap is the proper one for your cooling system. Higher pressure means a higher boiling point, which means more efficient cooling. A new radiator cap is usually all that is required for this (but doesn’t over pressurize your radiator cores and wreck the whole system).

Most Radiators' cooling system failures arise from poor radiator maintenance. Many radiator problems can be prevented with regular maintenance and periodic professional inspections of you car radiator and cooling system. The most common radiator problems are: leaky fittings or seams, fin deterioration and bond failure, electrolysis, cracked tank, and fan damage.

Parts train's Aftermarket Parts, Replacement Parts and top grade Radiators are reasonably priced and the company makes sure they are durable. Draving" target="_blank">R. Draving

Car covers come in all shapes, colors and sizes to help you protect your vehicle from Mother Nature and people passing by. If your car is left uncovered the finish can be damaged by ultra violet radiation from the sun and acid rain from air pollution. It will also get covered in dust which acts like an abrasive material and will scratch your vehicle. A covered car is also protected from the claws of animals and from bird droppings which can eat right through the finish of your car.

A car cover can also damage your vehicle if it does not fit properly. A cover that does not fit correctly can actually do more damage to your car than leaving it uncovered. A loose car cover will flap against the paint and may cause severe scratching and chipping of your car's paint finish. To make sure this doesn't happen to your vehicle you should invest in a cover that is custom fitted for your year and make of car.

The one size fits all are cheaper but will not protect your car like a custom fitted cover will. Another thing to keep in mind is if the car is not clean the dirt which gets trapped in between the paint and the cover will damage the paint. The dirt will act like sandpaper when you remove or take off the cover. You are defeating your purpose if you use a universal car cover or cover a dirty car.

The way to protect your car to the fullest is to cover it with a custom fitted car cover and make sure the car is clean first. You want the cover to fit snuggly and a custom cover will have some sort of bottom locking system to keep the cover in place. Not only does it protect your car from the elements it will also help to deter a thief.

To make sure you are getting the best type of car cover for your vehicle you have to be knowledgeable about what types of covers are available. The type of car cover you need depends on whether or not you are covering your car for storage, or if the car cover will be used in a daily capacity. It also depends a great deal on the type of climate you live in. There are different types of covers that serve different purposes depending on whether you live in a rainy climate or a sunny climate.

There are different types of covers some are designed to be used in all types of weather. Some are water resistant and some are made of breathable materials. There are car covers that are made to protect your vehicle from the harsh rays of the sun. You can find a custom fit cover for all types of vehicles including trucks and motorcycles. No matter what type of vehicle you own you will be able to find a protective cover that will keep your vehicle's paint finish looking like new.

Article Source:http://www.articlesbase.com/automotive-articles/types-of-car-covers-1323568.html

About the Author:
Ryan Draving is the VP of Empire Covers, a leading provider ofcar covers, truck covers, motorcycle covers, and other vehicle covers and accessories. There was a time in the not so distant past when car stereos that had CD players or CD disc changers where the cutting edge of technology. New technology however has nearly rendered the CD players in cars as obsolete as long forgotten 8-track players. The sad news is that many carmakers are clinging to the old days and only offer something as modern as cassette players as standard equipment for auto sound systems.

I think those days will soon be forgotten, as cassettes are no longer even in mainstream production. You should also find that as CDs are rapidly becoming replaced by MP3s that take up very little space in our cars and homes, one day very soon we may see that music companies have decided it is no longer cost effective to produce CDs and render all music to digital formats. So, what does this mean for auto sound systems? It's actually good news for savvy manufacturers are well as savvy consumers who have their eyes on the future and the growing role technology is playing in our lives and as well as our commute to work.

We've seen a recent introduction of satellite radio to our selection of auto sound systems. These stations offer the allure of no commercial interruptions to your music play in exchange for the price of a monthly subscription. At the moment there are two major companies that offer this service to consumers and each have rather proprietary equipment for their use and installation into your car. They are actually offering some rather tempting offers in order to encourage subscribers. Among those wonderful offers are auto sound systems for your vehicle at less than $100 with a prepaid year of subscription services.

For the satellite radio companies this indicates a constantly growing pool of prospective subscribers and the cost of the equipment is a drop in the bucket when compared to customer loyalty and being on the cutting edge of sound technology. The drawback is that you must decide which service you wish to go with before making the purchase. Also while they offer a very nice auto sound system (bare bones kind of kit that only allows for the radio reception in most cases) at a very sweet price, if you want upgrades such as MP3 compatibility, CD players, CD changers, DVD players, GPS, or any number of other new and advanced technology you will still have to purchase those for your sound system at an upgraded price. There are a few packages that come with these things, but the price is a little on the hefty side. Oh the sacrifices we will make for a more enjoyable daily commute.

Know what your expectations are before you decide to purchase the auto sound system of your dream or you could find that it is more the stuff that nightmares are made of than sweet dreams. Do not live in constant fear that if you buy today you will find something you like better 6 months from now, that is a reality. Technology is growing and evolving at a frightening pace. Find the auto sound system that you like best today and make that your purchase. This is a much better option than waiting around indefinitely and purchasing one just as your warranty expires on your car and it's time for a trade in and another auto sound system.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/cars-articles/new-improved-sound-systems-and-technology-1298832.html

About the Author:
For more useful tips & hints, please browse for more information at our website:-
www.generationxcars.com

Here Is Why Honda Cars Are Some Of The Most Popular In The World

Author: Shop On Sale

Honda has become a popular brand that’s well known around the world. The Honda motor company is probably best known for Honda Cars but it’s also a leading producer of motorcycles. After its birth in Japan the company has spread its tentacles all over the world and you would be able to see Honda vehicles anywhere.

Those enthusiastic ‘car lovers’ might like to know that there are a number of Honda Cars that would be released in 2010. The bad news is that you would have to wait for some time to get your hands on those cars.

The story of Honda Cars is one that is very uplifting and challenging. Many have heard the fairytale success journey of Soichiro Honda. His journey from a mechanic to a multi-millionaire through the ashes of the Second World War has warmed many a heart.

S2000, Accord, Civic, CR-V and Insight are some of the most well known Honda Cars and Hybrids were made available by Honda since 2002. The production of such cars has been restrained due to the limited availability of hydrogen filling stations around the globe especially in developing countries. This venture however has shown the versatility of the company together with its ability to feel the pulse of the consumers.

Honda was also a pioneer Japanese auto manufacturer to produce a luxury brand. In 1986 the company launched the luxury brand Acura. S500, a sports car was the first car to be released by the company. The company has not remained limited to the mere production of vehicles and has even produced their very own robot ASIMO in 2000 through its involvement in robotics research.

Honda Cars are generally very fuel efficient and this has certainly given them an edge over their competitors. With awareness increasing about global warming this is one factor that may have increased the fame of Honda. There is evidence that increase in oil prices have lead to an increase in demand for Honda Cars. Even at the factory level the flexibility of the company has boosted its success.

Honda has not been exempt from the list of the victims of the recession. Sales of even Honda Cars reduced but with future forecasts seeming to be favorable the future for this unique company seems to be a sunny one.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/cars-articles/here-is-why-honda-cars-are-some-of-the-most-popular-in-the-world-1516075.html
About the Author:
Before you buy a new car, I suggest you try out rental cars first. The potential to damage your new paint job, there are two big reasons why some people shy away from this step, the first reason is that an inexperienced person color sanding the car may go through the clear coat of the paint and in to the color coat, and this means a paint repair on that area where they went through, or a total re-paint of the car "Not Good", the second reason would be that if they don't go through the base coat of the paint there is a chance that the buffer can burn the paint job, when I was learning, I had both of these things happen to me, and neither one of them are fun to fix.

2. Is the extra time that it takes to do the cutting and buffing of the car, this can be up to 20 hours of added time, if your one of those people who is always in a hurry, then it's obvious why you'd hate this process, you absolutely cannot be in a hurry, or those bead things that I talked about earlier with without a doubt happen.

The reason why I like the paint job cut and buffed is for the look, it looks completely different from a non-buffed car, the non-buffed car will look great, don't get me wrong here, it will have a factory looking paint job, with an ultra shine, and it will be absolutely brilliant in the sun light, but will appear that the color is on top of the paint job, as where a buffed car will look deep, like you could stick your hand in the paint and swirl it around, the decision is all yours, but I will say that if you decide to cut and buff the car, make 100% sure that the people doing the work know what they are doing.

Look at some of their work to determine if you want this done, there are a lot of shops that have this down to a science, and you don't need to worry at all if you find the right people, that being said, this is not a step that I think a beginner should attempt, although I'm about to explain the process, if you feel confident, then go ahead and give it a try.

The Color Sanding Process:

After the car has been re-masked, you should get a bucket with water and dish soap in it, or if you feel more at home using a spray bottle load it with water and dish soap also, and then your going to want to have some 1000 grit wet sand paper to start with, and you'll be working up to 2000 grit by the time this process is done, first you'll need to spray the car down with water, and it does not matter where you start to color sand the car, it's just where you feel comfortable starting from, this is a long process, so don't get in a hurry, if you do it will be at the expense of you new paint job, OK now you'll want to have a decent selection of sanding blocks, a cut and buff is designed to create a smooth appearance over the entire surface of the car, and if it's done right it does a very good job of that.

Now that you have sprayed the car down with water load up your 1000 grit wet sand paper on a sanding block, I usually use a 6" hard flat block on the large flat surfaces of the car, you never want to sand or buff the crown of any panel on your car, I use a 6" round hard rubber block in the curved areas on the panels, at the first it will look as if it's not doing anything, but take my word it is smoothing the clear coat on your car, when you color sand you clear coat you need to pay serious attention to what you are doing, cutting and buffing will remove any dust or runs from you paint job and smooth the surface to a brilliant deep shine.

When you start to sand the car, if your using a spray bottle you'll spray some of the contents from the bottle on to your painted surface, and then you'll begin to sand the clear coat with 1000 grit wet paper, make sure that you sand only in one direction, as it will be easier to buff out in the end, do not press hard on the block, let the sand paper do the work, and if you hear a squeaking sound stop now, and run some water over your sanding block and the surface of the car, a squeaking sound means that you have a piece of balled up clear coat under the block, or dirt, in either case, you do not want it there so clean the block and surface of the car.

When your sanding your paint with the 1000 grit paper, your looking for the entire surface of the car to have a smooth and dull appearance, remember that you still have to sand the clear coat with 1500 and 2000 grit sand paper, so it does not need to be perfect at this stage of the game, just make sure that you've sanded the entire surface of the car before you move on to the next stage.

Now you'll repeat the same process with 1500 grit wet paper, and then 2000 grit wet paper, after you have done this, you done color sanding or cutting the clear coat, during this process yo don't ever want to see the color of your base coat on the sanding block, this means that you have gone through the clear coat, so pay attention to what you are doing.

The Buffing Process:

Now that the cutting or color sanding process is complete on your car, you'll want to wash all the wet sanding residue from the car, wet sanding will leave a with powder type residue on the car, and you don't want to put the buffer to this residue, so make sure that you wash the entire car again before you get started with the buffer.

Now let's get the buffer out and set the speed to about 800 rpm or medium speed on the speed selector, this may seem a bit slow, but you have less of a chance of burning the paint job with it set at a lower speed, and you can use water to help cool the paint as you buff the car if you want to, you'll be starting with a heavy buffing compound and working all the way down to a swirl remover, yet another long process.

Get you courage up and your patience, and get ready to dive in head first, there is no changing your mind now.

Now put a little dab of the heavy cutting compound on the surface of the car where you want to start buffing the paint, and also I almost forgot, this needs to be done inside a garage, the sun will cause big problem with this process, what your going to do is put a wool pad on the buffer, and then pull the buffer trigger and begin to buff the heavy cutting compound off of the car, you'll notice it starting to bring the shine up on the surface of the paint, when you run out of the heavy compound on the surface just keep adding more and moving in slow circular motions until the entire surface is buffed with the heavy compound.

You'll repeat this process with medium cutting compound, and then light compound, and last but not least swirl remover.

When you change compounds you'll want to have the appropriate foam pads for each step in the process, and make sure that you clean all the pads as they will get clogged with compound, you can can a pad cleaning tool from your local auto paint retailer.

<a target="_new" The reason behind it is that unlike calendared films, cast films are manufactured with very little inherent stress in the materials. Hence, they have excellent durability characteristics, additionally its thin gauge gives the product the “paint-like” finish.

Before applying – This step plays a very important role in ensuring that the graphics adheres properly. Before applying a car wrap , make sure that the surface of the car is properly cleaned. Thoroughly inspect the surface and edges for any remaining wax, polish, grease, or grime.

Allow vehicle to dry – After cleaning process is over, allow the vehicle to dry completely. It may take up to 24 hours for vehicle to dry, especially in cold conditions. Drying a vehicle indoors overnight is another possibility in such conditions.

Position graphics – The next step is to position the graphics on the vehicle in the proper manner. This is another important step, and one way to do it is by using tape before applying vinyl, as it will give you the chance to make adjustments to get the wrap on perfectly.

Tips for a perfect Vehicle wrap

Always start with the back of the vehicle, and then work your way to the front. This ensures that when you are driving the vehicle, wind will not cause peeling of the graphic.

Use two towels. The first one will be soaked to loosen and clean off the contaminants such as dust, dirt, wax, etc. The second towel will be used to dry and wipe.

Use Squeegees to get perfect smooth look. Usually experts use two different squeegees -

1.A felt squeegee for areas that are difficult to wrap, since this will make it possible for you to not scratch the vinyl

2.The standard squeegee, i.e. the hard one, for the rest of the area

Avoid using razor blades to burst air bubbles, instead use an air release tool or pin

When the wrapping is finished, if necessary, reheat all borders, edges, and corrugations

Tools you will need while applying fleet graphics

Cotton gloves to avoid fingerprints

Tape for positioning film

Air release tool for bursting bubbles

Razor knife to remove extra vinyl

Heating gun

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/cars-articles/steps-and-tips-for-a-perfect-vehicle-wrap-1358594.html

About the Author:
Author is an expert in Vehicle wrap . If you're unsure, we will first look at the individual components that make up a complete system.

The Head Unit

AKA Source Unite. This is the most important part of your audio system. The decision you make here will either make or break your system, never mind you hearing.

What to look for in a head unit:

Manufacturer: Look for a well know manufacturer i.e. Sony, Alpine, Clarion, Blaupunkt, JVC etc.

Sound Re-production: Accurate sound re-production is a must, forget looks.

Warranty: Good warranty is also a must, avoid Grey-Market units.

Build Quality: Make sure its robust.

Low budget features:

Forget Fascination: Forget colorful displays, flip down panels, inbuilt equalizers, bass boost etc.

Higher budget features:

CD: If your music collection is on CD, then consider a CD head unit or one with a CD changer.

MP3 & WMA: If you have a vast music library then you may want to look for units that can read

MP3 and/or WMA music formats.

VCD & DVD: Long journeys will benefit from this feature and keep the kids out of trouble too.

Amplifier: If you planning to add an amp to your car choose a head unit with RCA outputs.

Speakers

This is the second most important part of your audio system. Speakers convert electronic signals into sound waves.

What to look for in speakers:

Spending: Speakers come in several types, sizes and power ratings. Be careful before spending more money then you need to.

Power: Speaker power is one of the most over-rated features in head units and speakers.

Numbers: Don't get pulled in by numbers like 300Watts or 450Watts etc. Even the big company's use this.

Ratings: Don't buy speakers based upon the company's ratings like PMPO, Peak Power, Max Power etc.

RMS: Root Mean Square ratings are equivalent of the actual power rating delivered.

Installation: This is one of the most important points of the speaker, “proper installation”. Direction, Height and Placement is key to the sound and if not installed properly can make the sound feel lifeless.

Manufacturer Locations: Usually speaker locations provided by the car manufacturer are not the best, but you can install the speakers in the provided spaces.

Speaker Types:

Coaxial: They are two (or more) speakers' built-in the same unit. They usually consist of a mid-bass and tweeters. They are cheaper than separate component speakers and easier to install.

Component 2-Way: They consist of a mid-bass and tweeter. They are harder to install then coaxial.

Component 3-Way: They consist of a separate woofer, mid-bass or mid-range and tweeters. They are harder to install then coaxial.

Mid-Bases: Usually 5” to 8” speakers that are designed for low frequency sound and fill the frequency gap between the woofer and the tweeter. Because of there size they are hard to fit but do make the sound more lifelike.

Horns: These are funnel shaped speakers that are for staging, they are particularly good for vocal frequencies but are the hardest to install.

Tweeters: Usually 1” to 3” in size and great for high frequency sounds. They can be hard to install in some cars as there mounting is usually done around or in the dashboard.

Sub-Woofers: The largest speakers raging in size from 8” to 24” and sometimes bigger. They are the most important if you want to feel the beats and not just hear them. The woofer is usually found in the trunk in an enclosure but installations may vary.

Speaker Locations:

Front Speakers: Commonly located in or under the dashboard or in door panels.

Rear Speakers: Located behind the rear seats or in door panels.

Woofer: Depending on size, behind the rear seats or in the trunk.

Tweeters: Usually on the front pillars, front doors or dashboard.

Note: Try out your speaker positions before installing them so that you get the best sound.

Amplifiers

Amps amplify or multiply the input signals from the head unit to the speakers. The Amp not only make the sound louder they also make it clearer.

What to look for:

Class: Amps are classified according to their amplification, Class-A, B, AB, and D.

Channel: They can also be classified by their channel, Monobloc 1-Channel, 2-Channel, 4-Channel etc.

Crossovers

They are a combination of series and parallel placed induction coils and capacitors, or either of them. They are given the job of frequency distribution among different types of speaker for distortion free sound reproduction. Inductors stop the high frequencies from passing through.

A combination of these together make a band pass which cut through a certain portion of both the high as well as the low frequencies and are rightly called band-pass crossovers.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/automotive-articles/beginners-guide-car-audio-systems-203170.html

About the Author:
About The Author: Carl Malley is a in car entertainment enthusiast. Not to mention the cost of materials, which can really add up! So don't bother getting fiberglass all over your clothes, save yourself some time, money, and patience.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have the car stereo system you have always dreamed of? Attractively designed fiberglass speaker box enclosures are made to accommodate and integrate almost any subwoofer on the market to the specific make and model vehicle you drive. They have a unique ability to custom fit 100% fiberglass for the desired budget and functionality without sacrificing future expansion.

If you want something really unusual, there is always a fiberglass speaker box that fits your vehicle make or design specifications.

Sound confusing? It doesn’t have to be.

Sometimes the technical sound terms can really bog you down. Don't worry about it. Experts understand all those crazy words and know how to tell you exactly what you need to know. And if you already know what you want, more power to you! With fiberglass speaker boxes you can have the most awesome sounds possible, and that the end result is not only exactly what you wanted, but what you paid for.
There are ecommerce sites which offer Fiberglass Subwoofer Boxes for virtually all makes and models. They are the tools of the trade and can mean the difference in your being an excellent paint technician or a poor one. Not only must one learn the various techniques involved with the spray guns there is also a must have knowledge to be gained in how to maintain the spray guns to keep them in their optimum working condition. You can have all the techniques mastered but if your gun is not operating properly then in won't matter about your techniques.

You have to visualize what the spray gun is doing when in operation such as taking tiny droplets of paints then breaking these droplets down into thousands of small particles. What gives the spray gun its ability to do this is its nozzle set. This is the air cap, paint needle and the fluid tip. There are variables that determine the size of those thousands of droplets of paint. It will depend on the viscosity of the streams of fluid as well as how much surface tension is present. The reason you don't get a steady stream of paint running out is because of the compressed air at the nozzle.

Getting on to the techniques of the gun when you slightly apply pressure to the trigger the air valve opens. With a little more pressure, it opens the fluid tip needle and allows the paint to flow.

If you are using a gravity gun. The amount of fluid dispersed is controlled by the viscosity of the paint. The flow is also determined by the fluid tip as well as the needle adjustment. As a rule of thumb, the gun should be almost fully open. With pressurized fluids, air pressure also affects the flow.

Equipment Set Up

Knowing how to work with atomization is the key to the proper set up. The combinations of the variants must be just right. For example the exact blend of the right nozzle with the correct pressure settings combined with fluid flow and fan width all the way they are suppose to be determines the outcome. Ideally, for the standard guns try and use only enough pressure to give you the best atomization and spray pattern.

If you are new to the world of spray painting the best advice in the beginning is keep it simple. In other words, use a type of spray gun that is going to do the job you need it for. There is no need to purchase a spray gun that has a lot of additives to it if you don't require them. On the other hand, if you are going to be using your spray gun on a regular basics then you may want something a little more advanced, as you will likely need it as you venture into your paint jobs.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/automotive-articles/how-to-spray-paint-a-car-spray-painting-car-paint-gun-operation-1059751.html

About the Author:
Discover how to spray paint your car in *2 hours* or less with SprayPaintSecrets
Click on the link to find out more below:
SprayPaintSecrets.com - spray paint a car

You can download *free* videos on car spray painting techniques and bodywork paint repair tips right now...

The Best Car Spray Painting Techniques and the Use of Spray Guns

By Mario Goldstein

When you are spray painting, don't be timid. You can bet you are going to get some runs and if you don't wet the panel adequately then its going to show like a dry look with a lot of pitting pattern. If the run happens to be during the clear coat application you can usually repair that once it cures. You will be able to sand out the run and recoat the panel. Don't fall into the trap of cover-up. Meaning you load on more material to try to cover up the mistake. It just does not work.

If you follow the instructions, at least your application problems won't be as a result of not enough flash time. What happens in this case is as the application is curing the solvents in the material evaporate. If you add another coat before this has fully taken place then the material is going to flow. Do yourself a favor and always add for a little extra curing time. You can save yourself a lot of work and headaches by doing this. If the car isn't exposed to, even drying time such as what happens in cross flow spray booths then the colder side tends to run.

Finally, you get the perfect application and then a fly comes along and lands in your material. Don't panic. Use a pair of tweezers carefully to remove it. Hopefully there will just be a slight imperfection that you will able to sand then polish. Worst comes to worst you will end up respraying the panel.

Some common questions when it comes to spray painting techniques are as follows.

Is the wide pattern technique the best?

If you are using the clear materials, you can use the wide patter, but pay attention to what you are doing. You could end up with some really obvious bad patterns. The perfect spray pattern has to be perfectly even from top to bottom. The other thing you need to consider and will have to contend with is the over spray that occurs when the gun is wide open.

I have a HVLP spray gun Can I use any technique I want?

You cannot use a regular technique with this spray gun because its give out 10 psi at the cap as opposed to the 50psi in the conventional guns. This means the distance will not be as great with the HVLP gun that means you must be closer to the paint surface. For the convention guns, the standard distance is 8inches whereas with the HVLP it should be between two to four inches.

Will I be able to get as much speed with the HVLP?

Standard guns efficiency for transfer is about 25-30% whereas with the HVLP it's about 65%. So needless to say, the gun excels in this department. You have to remember though that the closer you are spraying to the target surface the faster your stroke. As you extend your distance, you can reduce your stroke. With the HVLP, your target distance is 2-4 inches.

Learn how to spray paint your car easily in 2 hours of less

Visit SprayPaintSecrets official site now:http://www.SprayPaintSecrets.com

Discover the secrets of workshop car spraying techniques & car bodywork repair in 2 hours with step-by-step, easy to follow DVD video training...

Article Source:
http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Mario_Goldstein
http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Best-Car-Spray-Painting-Techniques-and-the-Use-of-Spray-Guns&id=2449211

Diesel Engines and its Advantages

Author: seboustin

It’s the Diesel Engines that are scoring more and why not. They have countless advantages. First of all, they are easy to maintain. The maintenance cost is also lower compared to other engines. Above all the durability and life of diesel engines are longer. Other than this the new engines manufactured now are quieter, sleeker and more powerful. As and how the industry is changing, diesel engines and its functionalities are also changing. The newer versions are more efficient and are made to generate more power.

Well it would be unfair to give all the advantages to the engines. The true craftsmanship lies in creating the machines. The manufactures keep in mind various attributes required to create such a powerful device. Every engine certainly differs from the other. There are different manufactures in the industry making the same products, but differs only in quality. The designing of engines also plays a very significant role in distinguishing the engine. The designs of diesel engines striving to increase performance have made a lot of advancements in engine fuel delivery to the combustion chamber. The engines of today are much quieter, smoother, and also more powerful. Thus the manufactures play a very significant role in defining the functions.

Behind a successful product, it involves a lot of creative and hardworking hands. To come out with an efficient diesel engine it requires many masterminds. One such re-manufacturer is Pedco Manufactures. They are known for their trusted team of professionals and workers for re-creating ace diesel engines and Allison Transmission. Their expertise of over 30 years gives them an edge over the other companies in the industry of diesel engines and Allison transmission.

They deal with remanufactured marine engines as well. They supplied engines for military, commercial and leisure applications. Against the very expensive engines or parts, remanufactured marine engines serve as the best alternative as they are not only best in performance like the new engines but are as cheap as nearly 50% lesser in price as compared to the market price of the brand new marine engines and Pedco manufactures are renowned in the industry for reassembling parts best suited for the performance of the engines.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/trucks-articles/diesel-engines-and-its-advantages-1390900.html

About the Author:
Pedcoengines is the world's leading manufacturer of large-bore diesel engines for marine and power plant applications. These cars all however share the same trait. This trait is the factory original look. In other words if you are looking to have a unique looking car you will need to customize the body of the car itself. This can be done via the use of car body kits. These body kits that you look at have a price range that is dependent of the various items you choose.
For instance you will find different types of Lambo wing doors which can be installed on your regular car. Now you are probably wondering what on earth Lambo wing doors are. To understand the meaning of these doors all that you need to do is to remember the doors that are used on Lamborghini cars.

These doors don’t open outwards. Instead they open skywards giving the car an exotic look. This exotic look can also be achieved with the use of Lambo wing doors for a fraction of the cost. This is just one of the car body kits that will change the way your ordinary vehicle looks.

You can find car body kits where cars with rear engines will have parts for them. There are engine grills which can be placed over the rear engine. Another item that is used in these car kits is that of an EV (engine vent). This engine vent is the replacement hood cover for cars with rear engines.

Other car body kits will have items like a rear air wing. This wing is attached your car at the top of the rear window. You can also buy a Ferrari style rear hatch. This Targa hatch along with the Testarossa door caps will help you to produce an exotic and very interesting car to look at.

There are also other items that you can use for the hood of your car. These items include a hood wing and a hood scoop. The hood scoop is bolted on or molded on the hood. The hood wing on the other hand is place at the front of the front windshield. These are just a few of the many different items that are available in various car body kits.

With the placement of these, the many interesting accessories like that of LED lights and fog lights you have the ability of creating a brand new car that reflects your own unique personality. All that is left to complete this fantastic hot new image is an interesting paint job. Finally test drive your new car and see the many reactions you will get.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/cars-articles/car-body-kits-to-change-the-way-your-ordinary-vehicle-looks-303507.html

About the Author:
Muna wa Wanjiru is a Web Administrator and Has Been Researching and Reporting on Car Kits for Years. People do not even notice the registration on the car. That's why i have become so selective in choosing the cars that i drive. Selecting car paint colors for a full overhaul of your car is not easy though. These days, there are thousands of shades and variations of blue, Green, white, yellow and so on. You need to have a color code to define the exact color that you need.

I got these kind of challenge sometime back, i was forced to visit my local car dealer shop. I looked at the cars they had on display. Once i had identified the car paint colors i liked, i asked them to give me the numeric color code of that car, which they did willingly. They had to go to their computers to be able to identify that particular color code. I would not want you to go through the same process if you really do not want to.

You will realize that there are six basic car paint colors in the United States i.e. beige, blue, silver, Black, Grey and red. Variations of these shades should easily be found. Some of the car colors that have found demand in the States are Classic Black, White and Silver, orange power, blues and greens that give a sporty look, brown on the inside among many other shades. Blue is considered as classy as black while orange is the color of fashion.

Beside choosing a particular color for your car, you will need to either do the painting yourself or employ the services of a professional painter. This will cost a little more and at this point you should be better of having your job done by a paint shop.
Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/interior-design-articles/how-to-choose-car-paint-colors-540585.html

About the Author:
Peter Gitundu Researches and Reports on Paint. This question has fueled many a heated debates too. Sometimes this question involves a truck that will be used to tow a trailer, and other times it involves what type of motorhome to purchase. A universal response you could expect to hear to this question goes something like this: Diesels cost more. Don’t buy a diesel unless you plan to put a bunch of miles on it and keep it for a long time. That’s the only way you can justify the extra cost of a diesel.

Several years ago there was some truth to this somewhat typical response. But things are changing, especially when you’re talking about motorhomes. Today, the cost of some gasoline powered motorhomes is about the same as many of the entry level diesel motorhomes available on the market. This higher cost is mainly due to advancements in gasoline RV chassis’ design; with greater Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings (GVWR) to accommodate coach designs with 3 and 4 slideouts. And don’t forget to factor in the new technology in gasoline engine and transmission design over the past several years.

The old response, of diesels costing more, does hold true with some of the specialized diesel chassis manufacturers, but it’s not just the engine that accounts for these higher prices. You are moving to a much higher plateau across the board. For the most part gasoline RV chassis’ are heavy duty truck chassis’ modified for Recreation Vehicle use, whereas many diesel chassis’ are a bus chassis. These bus chassis’ have even greater GVWR’s, air brakes, air ride suspension systems, larger transmissions, rear mounted diesel engines and more. They handle better, ride better and cost more. I always say you get what you pay for.

Other than the cost factor between gas and diesel motorhomes, what are we really talking about when it comes down to gas versus diesel? Say for example in a truck you want to use to pull a trailer. This is where we need to factor in the engine itself. This is also where torque and horsepower come into the equation.

Explaining torque and horsepower can get extremely technical, and we want to keep this simple and easy to understand. With that said, torque is basically the force or energy required to move something. Torque is the measurement of force, and force is measured in reference to a twisting or rotating shaft. In English terms torque is measured in pounds-feet, but is more commonly referred to as foot-pounds. So in keeping it simple let’s just say that torque can be thought of as the amount of turning force it takes to move one pound of weight the distance of one foot.

Torque can be multiplied through gear ratios. You have probably heard that the higher the real axle gear ratio is the better the truck will tow. The axle ratio is the number of times the driveshaft must rotate to turn the rear wheels one time. If you have a 3.73:1 axle ratio the drive shaft turns 3.73 times for each full turn of the axle. So in a sense torque really equals towing capacity.

Horsepower on the other hand is torque X RPM’s. Torque is how much work is being done, and horsepower is how fast you get the actual work done. What’s interesting is an engine rated at 350 horsepower only produces that horsepower at a rated peak power RPM. This RPM range, for a gasoline engine, is often between 5,000 and 6,000 RPM’s. When an engine is idling the horsepower is significantly lower, and as the RPM’s raise so does the horsepower. When you are towing a trailer the engine speed is more likely to be in the low to mid 2,000 RPM range, which means you probably have slightly more than half of the rated horsepower. Horsepower is measured by a dynamometer. A dynamometer puts a load on the engine and measures the amount of power the engine produces against the load at various speeds. In reality it is measuring torque in pound-feet and converting it to horsepower. Even at the rated peak power RPM you won’t really get the rated horsepower because a percentage is lost through auxiliary equipment on the engine and the process of getting it back to the wheels.

In a diesel engine the horsepower peaks at a lower RPM, and there is more torque at a lower RPM compared to a gasoline engine. This results in a diesel engine having much more power at a lower RPM, around the RPM range you will be towing at. This higher torque and higher horsepower at a lower RPM equates to better towing.

There are many other factors involved in the question of gas versus diesel that you will need to consider. What are the maintenance costs involved, cost difference between fuel types, fuel economy, your budget, and the resale value? Whether it’s for a tow vehicle or a motorhome, take your time and make a well informed decision when comparing gas to diesel.

If the question is which truck will tow more or which motorhome has more torque the diesel will win hands down, but I honestly have no complaints with our gas powered motorhome either. Especially when considering the price.

Q&A
Question: Why does a diesel engine have more torque?
Mark Says: Much of the reason is in the way the engine is designed. Internal combustion engines use spark from a spark plug to ignite fuel in the combustion chamber of a gasoline engine and the high heat from compression to ignite the fuel in a diesel engine. It’s more difficult to burn diesel fuel so diesel engines have higher compression ratios resulting in more heat to ignite the fuel and more power.

Question: I have always heard that a diesel engine is much louder than a gas engine, is this true?
Mark Says: If you asked me that several years ago the answer would have been yes, but newer diesel engines are actually very quiet.

Question: You said in the article a diesel motorhome rides better, why is that?
Mark Says: Most gas motorhome chassis’ use leaf spring suspension systems. With this suspension system you will experience things like “body roll” and “pitch.” whenever pressure is exerted against one side of the motorhome. It can be caused by a gust of wind, a shift in weight while cornering, or a passing truck. The effects of sway on a motorhome are increased because of the height and mass of the motorhome. A diesel chassis uses an air ride suspension system. These systems keep the chassis adjusted to the proper ride height at all times by adding and releasing air as required. And the way the system is designed eliminates the pitch and roll affect you get from leaf spring suspensions, resulting in a smoother riding motorhome.

Happy Camping,
Mark J.
